Personal Songs

Personal Song Terms

These terms explain how Shadow Lantern Personal Song projects work, what is included with your package, how revisions are handled and the rights associated with your finished song.

By submitting a Personal Song request, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are authorized to provide any lyrics, photographs, recordings or other materials you submit. A submitted questionnaire is a project request. Production does not begin until Shadow Lantern Studios has confirmed the project and payment has been received.
01

Project Requests & Acceptance

Completing the Personal Song Questionnaire does not by itself create a paid order or guarantee that Shadow Lantern Studios will accept the project.

We review the requested package, story, timing and creative direction before confirming the project. We may ask for clarification or suggest a different package where appropriate.

A project is considered accepted once Shadow Lantern confirms the request and the required payment has been received.

02

Pricing & Payment

The applicable price is the price confirmed by Shadow Lantern for your selected package at the time the project is accepted.

Promotional or introductory pricing may be offered from time to time and may change or end without affecting projects that have already been accepted and paid.

Payment is required before production begins unless Shadow Lantern agrees otherwise in writing.

03

AI-Generated Music

Shadow Lantern Studios is dedicated to AI-generated music. Personal Songs are created using artificial-intelligence music tools together with human creative direction, selection, editing and review.

AI generation can produce variations in vocal character, phrasing, instrumentation and arrangement. Shadow Lantern will use reasonable creative judgment to select and refine the version that best serves the agreed direction.

Unless specifically agreed otherwise, Shadow Lantern does not promise an exact singer, celebrity voice, artist imitation or exact reproduction of a reference song.

04

Your Story & Submitted Materials

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to provide any material submitted to Shadow Lantern, including lyrics, written passages, photographs, recordings, names and personal information.

Please do not submit copyrighted lyrics, photographs, recordings or other third-party material unless you created them yourself or have permission to use them.

Shadow Lantern may use third-party technology and service providers as reasonably necessary to develop, generate, edit, communicate and deliver your project. Please avoid submitting information you are not authorized or comfortable sharing for that purpose.

05

Creative Direction

Your questionnaire and any approved follow-up communication form the creative brief for the project.

References to artists, songs, genres or productions are used as directional guidance only. Shadow Lantern will not intentionally copy a specific copyrighted song, lyric, recording or protected artist performance.

Shadow Lantern retains reasonable creative discretion in lyric development, arrangement, vocal selection, instrumentation and production decisions unless a specific element has been expressly agreed as essential to the project.

06

Revision Rounds

A revision round means one consolidated set of requested changes submitted after you receive the current version of your song.

  • Personal: one revision round.
  • Premium: two revision rounds.
  • Signature: up to three collaborative revision rounds.

Revisions are intended to refine the agreed story and creative direction. They may address lyrics, vocal character, style, tempo, instrumentation, energy, arrangement or overall feel.

A substantially different story, genre, concept or creative direction requested after production has begun may fall outside the included revision rounds and may require additional work or a new project quote.

07

Timing & Delivery

Requested dates are reviewed before a project is accepted. Shadow Lantern will confirm whether the requested delivery timing can reasonably be accommodated.

Delivery timing may depend on the complexity of the project, the selected package, customer response time and revision requests.

Final files are delivered digitally using the formats included with the selected package.

08

Personal-Use Rights

Standard Personal Song packages are intended for personal, non-commercial use.

You may listen to the song, share it privately with family and friends, play it at personal events and use it in personal videos or personal social-media posts, subject to the rules of the applicable platform.

Commercial advertising, monetized campaigns, broadcast use, commercial synchronization, resale, sublicensing or other commercial exploitation is not included unless Shadow Lantern provides separate written permission or a commercial licence.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Shadow Lantern retains any rights and interests it legally holds in the created work and recording, while the customer receives the personal-use rights described above.

09

Privacy & Public Showcase Use

Personal Songs are private by default. Shadow Lantern does not automatically place commissioned Personal Songs into the public music catalogue or make them available for licensing to other customers.

Shadow Lantern will not use your Personal Song, personal photographs or identifiable story as a public showcase example without your permission.

10

Cancellations & Refunds

Because Personal Songs are custom creative services, cancellation and refund eligibility depends on the stage of the project.

If a paid project is cancelled before substantive production work has begun, Shadow Lantern may provide a refund, subject to any payment processing costs or non-recoverable expenses.

Once substantive custom production has begun, payments are generally non-refundable because creative work and production resources have already been committed to the project.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

11

Projects We May Decline

Shadow Lantern may decline a project that it reasonably believes involves unlawful content, infringement of another person's rights, unauthorized use of third-party material, harmful impersonation, defamatory material or content that cannot reasonably be produced within the requested scope or timing.

If a paid project must be declined before substantive production begins, any payment received for that project will be addressed as part of the cancellation and refund process.

12

Final Approval & Delivery

Once the applicable revision process is complete and the customer approves the final version, Shadow Lantern will prepare and deliver the files included with the selected package.

Technical delivery problems, such as a corrupted or inaccessible file, will be corrected without being treated as a creative revision.
