Do I need to write the lyrics?
No. Writing the lyrics is completely optional. You can provide full lyrics,
a few lines or phrases you would like included, or simply tell us the story,
memories and details behind the song. Shadow Lantern can develop the lyrics
from that material for you.
Can I choose the musical style?
Yes. Tell us what you enjoy — ballad, soul, Latin, cinematic, upbeat celebration, duet, horns, strings or another direction. We will use that as part of the creative brief.
Can I choose the type of vocal?
Yes. You can tell us whether you prefer a male vocal, female vocal,
duet or group-style vocal, along with the general age, tone and
character you have in mind. We will use that direction when
developing the song, although the exact voice will depend on what
best serves the finished piece.
Can the song include names and personal details?
Yes. Specific details are often what make a personal song feel meaningful. You decide what information you want included.
How long will my song be?
There is no fixed radio-length target. The song should be long enough to serve the story and musical idea without unnecessary repetition.
What if I don't like what I'm hearing?
Tell us what is not connecting — the lyrics, vocal character, musical style,
